Mangaluru, Apr 6: In an incident which apparently is aimed at flaring up religious sentiments, miscreants have placed footwear near the platform dedicated to a Daiva. The perverted religious bigots did this at Kamblapadavu within the limits of Konaje police station here.

The incident was noticed during the late night hours on Monday April 5 at the revered seat of a divine power, Muchirakallu Guliga Daiva. This spot is highly respected where the people have all along believed that prayers of the devotees are always answered. People of different religions are the devotees of this seat of worship.

A youth belonging to another religion, out of arrogance, had desecrated the sanctity of the place a few years ago. Within a few days thereafter, he had died in an accident. Thereafter, the spot has always represented religious harmony.

Heads of Muchirakallu Kshetra Samiti have filed complaint at Konaje police station. The police who visited the place undertook investigation.

On Saturday, a cricket tournament had been organized at the Guligajjana Katte.

Desperate INC (or some other politically motivated party) cadre is trying wrest control from BJP or? Of late many such instances are happening. In the past it literally used to paralyze daily life. Good thing is people have learnt to separate religion from politics now I hope. Sanctity of place of worship is in gender neutral word called "purusha" (meaning, in whom God resides). If people understand this basic thing, you can throw anything at anything, it does not matter. A flower placed as decoration becomes a trash the very next day. You can challenge that concept by leaving a used chappal. The person who performed this deed also a purusha. He will be taken care off. However, if this is used to demean the concept and consequently the religion and justified by the followers of other religion also to demean for political reasons, then ballot box will show the result.

I don't understand what peace do human beings get by disturbing others' religious beliefs. Whatever the belief is its one's own and why do others poke their nose or make fun... let anyone follow anything they wish until unless it doesn't harm someone else.. at the end everyone will be wither buried or burnt and we will go back to the same place called earth. so I don't understand why the hell we fight, kill in the name of religion and speak badly about others or other religions...

This looks more like the work of a stray dog , adding to the tension of already frayed nerves. If it was done on purpose, the person could have kept it on the stone it self.

What happened is bad here. Action must be taken for whomsoever, done this ...because of two or more black sheep in community.. the Whole community is blamed...... The above applies to all religions.. And FYI there is also several verses in (Quran) not to insult or make problem to other religions.. "And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah( God, brahma,) lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do." My Respect to all religion ..
