Mangaluru, Mar 23: St Sebastian Church under the aegis of Catholic Sabha, and Lions Club 317 D, Bejai unit held blood donation and eye check-up camps at Permannur Holy Angels School premises on March 21.
Sherlin and the party sang a prayer song to begin the programme. Catholic Sabha vice-president Navin D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Permannur St Sebastian Church parish priest Fr Cyprian Pinto presided over the programme. Dr Osin of Father Muller Hospital, Kankanady, Dr Satyanarayana of A J Hospital Kuntikan, Sr Severine Fernandes, headmistress of Holy Angels Higher Primary school Permannur, Catholic Sabha president Dolphy D’Souza, Lions Club president Lion Ozwald Furtado, secretary Lion Prashanth D’Souza and Permannur church pastoral council vice-president Maurice Monteiro were on the dais.
Arun D’Souza rendered a vote of thanks. Pramila D’Souza compered the programme. About 200 people were present in the programme. 44 people donated blood and 171 people got their eyes examined. 124 people were donated spectacles free of charge.
