AAP accuses BJP of widespread voter fraud ahead of Delhi elections

New Delhi, Jan 11: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has leveled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the party of orchestrating a large-scale voter fraud in Delhi, just ahead of the upcoming elections. Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh is set to present what he claims is substantial evidence of these accusations during a press conference on Saturday.

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Today at 11 am, Sanjay Singh ji will reveal before the country the massive fraud being carried out by the 'Galli Galoch Party' with the voter list in Delhi."

Kejriwal accused the BJP of manipulating the electoral process and alleged that the local election officer in the New Delhi Assembly constituency had "surrendered to the BJP," enabling these fraudulent activities. He further added, “The Election Commission of India (ECI) has assured us that these practices will not continue, and strict action will be taken. The local District Election Officer (DEO) and Election Registration Officer (ERO) should be suspended.”

During a press conference on Friday, Singh referred to the BJP as the "Galli Galoch Party" and accused its leaders of distributing Rs 1,100 to bribe voters. Singh alleged that BJP leaders were given Rs 10,000 each to bribe voters but pocketed most of the money, distributing only Rs 1,100 to the public. "They distributed only Rs 1,100 and kept the rest for themselves," Singh claimed, challenging BJP leaders to clarify the situation.

He urged voters to expose the alleged corruption, stating, "The people of Delhi need to expose the 'Galli Galoch Party' now."

Kejriwal also highlighted what he called a concerning number of fake vote cancellation applications in the New Delhi constituency. "Between December 15 and January 7, over 5,500 fake applications were submitted to cancel votes. In the last 15 days alone, 13,000 such applications have been filed, and many people whose names appear in these applications have denied submitting them. This is a massive scam," Kejriwal asserted.

He accused the BJP of being involved in a broader effort to influence the outcome of the upcoming elections and called for immediate intervention by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

As the Delhi Assembly elections draw closer, the BJP has yet to officially respond to the allegations, adding further tension to the already heated political atmosphere in the capital. The release of evidence by Sanjay Singh is expected to escalate the political debate in the city.
