Chitradurga, Mar 22: Deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi, who also is the transport minister, wanted to know why KSRTC employees are going on strike even after eight of their demands were met. He felt that the employees of the transport sector were not right in serving the notice of strike beginning from April 7 on the government. "Do you people have animosity against me? or, do you have scores to settle against the corporation or the government," he wanted to know from the employees.

Speaking after inaugurating the drivers training centre built near Basapura in Holalkere taluk in the district on Sunday March 21, Savadi noted that KSRTC employees want to go on strike from April 7 onward. He pointed that eight out of the nine demands of the emlployees have been met, and the remaining demand will also be met soon.

He said that the government is committed to imlplement the recommendations of the sixth pay commission and that the government will not go back from its promise.

Savadi said that the department plans to start petrol bunks thorugh the transport department so that it yields Rs 7,000 to 8,000 per day and the drivers or conductors not feeling well can be deployed to petrol bunks on duty.
