Bengaluru, Mar 21: Deputy chief minister and minister of higher education in Karnataka Dr Ashwath Narayan released two books of first-time author Sameera Fernandes in the presence of industry thought leaders and educationist yesterday.
Nirbhaya Award winner and chairperson of the external affairs committee, Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) who is also the former director – Strategy of St Francis College and Director of Ecosol Global, Sameera Fernandes released two books namely ‘Educating the Next’ and ‘The Price of Truth – the autobiography of K Mathai KAS’ yesterday. This is her first-time stint as an author.
Keeping in mind the disruptions in the education sector, this book has come at a time when educationist across the country share insights on the New Education Policy (NEP) and how the country can gear up to support them in bringing out the best with the learning community. The book also addresses the challenges in the present education system and how educationist can come together, collaborate and educate the next.

Her second book ‘The Price of Truth’ is a biography dedicated to K Mathai KAS, former BBMP assistant commissioner who shared an honest re-telling of experiences backed by media reports which were then carefully presented by Sameera in her book. This includes the infamous Rs 2,000 crore BBMP scam, Rs 300 crore loss to Mandya Urban Development Authority, 28 transfers in 10 years and much more.
