Udupi: Assault on civic worker - MLA Raghupati Bhat holds meeting with members of city municipality

Udupi, Mar 14: MLA Raghupati Bhat held a meeting on Saturday, March 13 at the city municipality office, with members of the corporation and concerned officials about providing suitable security to civic workers in the wake of the assault on a civic worker by a shopkeeper near the city bus stand.
Raghupati Bhat condemned the assault on the civic worker and said that the administration is always committed to protecting the civic workers. He also discussed steps to be taken to prevent the recurrence of the same and also stringent action on the offenders.
Raghupati Bhat said, "I was involved in the campaigning work of Kerala Assembly elections. However, as soon as I got the news, I spoke to SP and concerned officials and have asked them to take action on the offenders."
Bhat also asked the civic workers to carry out their work without fear and that the administration is always with them. He also requested the general public to cooperate with the civic workers as their work in keeping the city clean is laudable.
Sumitra R Nayak, president of the city municipality, Girish Anchan, president of the standing committee of city municipality, Balakrishna Shetty, member of city municipality, Uday Shetty, city municipality commissioner and Dhananjay, revenue officer were present.
