Udupi, Jul 10: Shirva Welfare Association, Kuwait, distributed scholarships to the talented students of Don Bosco Kannada Medium Higher Primary School, St Mary’s High School, St Mary’s Pre-University College, and St Mary’s College in Shirva, near here, on Friday July 9.
The scholarship distribution programme was held at St Mary’s Pre-University College library auditorium, here.
Shirva Welfare Association president Urban D’Souza, treasurer Gilbert Mendonca, auditor Anil Menezes, Don Bosco and St Mary’s education institutions correspondent Fr Richard Coelho, Shirva parish council vice-president Norbert Machado, secretary and local representative of the association Melvin Aranha, St Mary’s Pre-University College principal Felix Andrade, Don Bosco Kannada Medium Higher Primary School head teacher Florine Rodrigues, and parents of students were present on the occasion.
Besides the scholarships, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 was presented to a needy heart patient for medical treatment.
Shirva Welfare Association, Kuwait, has been distributing scholarships to the talented students in their native Shirva every year.
