Mangalore, Jul 10: ‘Hadona Kuniyona’, an audio CD containing ten new patriotic songs in Kannada, was released by Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal of Padua P U College, at a colourful function organized at Padua High School in the city, here recently.
The lyrics and tunes of the new album have been composed by Stany Baretto, mathematics teacher of the school. The songs have been orchestrated by Razak T P and sung by Ravindra Prabhu, Sangeetha Balachandra and the students of Sandesha College of Fine Arts. The album has been produced by Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, directed by Fr Valerian Mendonca, and recorded by Ashith Pinto at Sandesha Digital Studio
Fr Michael, while releasing the new album, congratulated Stany Baretto for his creative musical contribution, and appreciated Sandesha for offering this album to the public. Francis D’Souza, headmaster, welcomed the gathering. Fr Valerian felicitated Stany Baretto on the release of his maiden album, and offered the album to the students to serve as an inspiration to live in amity as the true children of Bharat Matha. Baretto expressed his gratitude to Sandesha for directing and producing the CD, and his colleagues and students for their enthusiastic support. Gladys D’Souza was present at the dais. Arundhati Rao compered the programme.
It is hoped that the album will foster true patriotism in the hearts and minds of the public, especially the youth, and help them in a meaningful way for their preparations for the Independence Day 2010.
