Mangaluru, Feb 10: BJP Dakshina Kannada district vice-president Jagadish Adhikari on Tuesday February 9 presented himself at a Garodi near Moodbidri and apologised for the derogatory remarks he had made about the Billawa commuity and their heroes, Koti and Chennaya.
In the light of this development, former city corporator Pratibha Kulai has announced that the amount of one lac rupees she had announced as reward for anyone who paints Adhikari's face black, will now be spent towards educating poor children.
Pratibha had condemned the statement of Adhikari, and in a press conference, she had insisted that Adhikari should apologise for his utterances at the Garodi dedicated to Koti and Chennaya.
On Facebook live, she had announced that she would pay one lac rupees to anyone who blackens Adhikari's face if the leader fails to tender an apology within three days. She also had said that if Adhikari was not expelled from the BJP within three days, she would hold protest in front of the BJP office.
On Tuesday night, as soon as Adhikari visited the Garodi to offer his apologies, Pratibha Kulai came live on Facebook and announced that she would spend the amount she had offered earlier on education of children from underprivileged families.
