Mangaluru, Feb 9: Dakshina Kannada stands first as far as percentage of attendance in SSLC, PU and degree students, as also Vidyagama is concerned post the reopening of educational institutions. The number of students attending the classes is steadily rising in the district.
The percentage of attendance in SSLC stood at 73.41 per cent in the district. As many as 24,555 students out of 33,449 students attended classes on February 6.
In comparison, Udupi, where 9,013 out of 16,096 students are attending, is in the sixth spot.

In the first PU, the district has an attendance percentage of 92.4, while in the second PU, about 90 per cent of students are attending. In both these sectors, the district is at the top.
District health officer, Dr Ramachandra Bairy, said that no positive cases have been found among the students as they have been wearing masks and following COVID rules scrupulously.
However, he said that among the nursing students, most of the students of which come from Kerala, there is a high prevalence of the pandemic.
