Mangaluru, Feb 8: Former city corporator and Congress leader Pratibha Kulai has stirred a controversy by announcing a cash reward of one lac rupees to anyone who blackens BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari's face. She said she would pay the amount to any Billawa community youth who paints Adhikari's face black within three days.
In a live video on Facebook, she warned Adhikari that he will not be spared if he does not visit the Garodi of Koti and Chennaya within three days and tender unconditional apology. She also urged Adhikari to apologise to former union minister Janardhan Poojary.
"Many Billawa youngsters have been murdered in the name of Hindu organizations and hundreds are languishing in jails. Noticing these things, in the past, I had asked the people to join the organizations if they are prepared to die. This statement is being given different meanings but I am committed to what I said," Pratibha stated.
She also asked Adhikari, who she said, has slighted Billawa community as well as Koti and Chennaya, not to enact the 'farce' of apologising by sitting in a non-discreet corner.
Non-bailable case
Meanwhile, a non-bailable FIR was registered at Moodbidri police station against Jagadish Adhikari on Monday.
Moodbidri Brahmashree Guru Narayana Swamy Seva Sangha president Raju P K and other Billawa leaders had lodged a police complaint at Moodbidri police station on Friday February 5 that legal action should be taken against Adkikari for making derogatory statements against Koti Chennaya, Billawa community and Billawa leader Janardhan Poojary.
Accordingly, a non-bailable case under IPC 295(a) and 505 has been registered against Jagadih Adhikari.
