Kadaba, Feb 6: A leopard which got trapped in a toilet after chasing a dog had escaped from forest officials' operation by jumping out of the roof. After this incident, people of the area are living under the cloud of fear.
The residents of the area claim that leopards have been roaming about in the area since the last some weeks. They said that these animals have devoured over 400 dogs and cattle. The situation has come to such a pass that the locals are jittery from going out. People hesitate to go to their agricultural farms to attend to work in the morning, or to rubber plantations for rubber tapping. The locals feel the leopard which has escaped is angry and it might attack them anytime.
The forest officials say that the place where the leopard got trapped was inconvenient for their operations. The department has planted a cage and efforts to catch the leopard are continuing.
