Moodbidri, Feb 6: Leaders of different units of Moodbidri Billawa Sangha, on Friday February 5, filed a complaint at Moodbidri police station against BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari. Billawa Sangha president P K Raju Poojary, office bearers of the Sangha, women's unit of the Sangha and office bearers of the Sevadal were present.
It is said that when speaking at the religious meeting that was part of the Nemotsava ritual organised at Valpadiguthu, Adhikari said that he is prepared to touch the feet in reverence of those who are chosen to adorn the religious leadership (Patta) but he will never bow before Janardhana Poojary. Audio clippings of his utterances have become viral in social media. It is said that a Billawa leader had called Jagadish Adhikari over phone to seek clarification from him on these things.

It is said that after the discussions ended, without disconnecting the call, Jagadish Adhikari spoke with those next to him, duly making scornful remarks about Billawa community. It is said that these comments were recorded in the phone. Billawas are reportedly angry that when speaking with his associates, Adhikari spoke against the Billawa community and narrated the Koti Chennayya biography in a twisted manner.
