Mangaluru, Feb 5: Several commuters who arrived from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport via SpiceJet have complained regarding the delay in baggage.
Speaking to Daijiworld Santhosh Noronha, one of the passengers said he had boarded SpiceJet in Dubai Airport (DXB) on Thursday, February 5. "After arriving at the Mangaluru airport, exactly after exiting the aeroplane, two staff of SpiceJet asked the passengers for boarding passes. Later, they asked a few passengers to proceed. For the remaining passengers, they informed that their checked-in baggage did not arrive, as the aeroplane can not carry baggage over the capacity of the flight. They then asked us to proceed to the ground floor for further information. After the process of immigration, while commuters arrived at SpiceJet counter they informed us that the baggage will be delivered to passengers on Sunday, February 7."
He also said that each passenger is allowed to carry 30 kg baggage on the flight and questioned as to how did the luggage exceed the capacity of flight.
Sources in SpiceJet at Mangaluru airport informed that the delivery of the luggage to a few commuters is delayed. As the flight cannot carry luggage that is over its capacity, the delayed luggage will arrive on Saturday at 12.40 am. It will be then delivered to passengers on Sunday morning. The flight could not carry over its capacity as it was supposed to carry even the fuel, this caused the delay in the baggage.
