Bantwal: Traffic jam after LPG tanker topples, mosque’s loudspeaker used to alert people

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Feb 2: An LPG tanker carrying gas to Bengaluru fell by its side in front of Soorikumeru mosque in the taluk on Tuesday February 2 morning. Luckily so far, the LPG in the tanker has not leaked. However, later that day at around 1 pm the tanker was removed with the help of a crane in an eight-hour-long operation.

After the driver of the tanker lost control over the tanker, the vehicle fell on the road. As a result, vehicular traffic on the national highway 75 between Mangaluru and Bengaluru has come to a standstill. The locals helped in regulating vehicular movement.

Vehicles coming from the direction of Mangaluru were diverted via Kalladka, Vittal road while those arriving from Uppinangady were sent via Mani, Budoli, Kabaka road. Vittal police and fire brigade personnel have been handling the situation. Under the leadership of Budoli Youth Federation and Soorikumeru Badriya Young Men’s members apart from some locals, traffic is being handled at various spots.

The loudspeaker of the mosque was used to spread the message in the area, warning people against using or igniting fire till the incident is handled by experts and the risk factor is removed.

Following the removal of the tanker, the traffic was regulated under the leadership of Bantwal traffic SI Rajesh and Vittal SI Vinod Reddy. The tanker that toppled at the residential area had created panic. However, the successful removal of the gas tanker from the area without causing any mishap by the police officials, local groups and associations is being commended.

The local administration ( Police and Municipal officials) has the authority to address and guide civilians, during strife or calamity. Religious place of worship should not be used to cause sound pollution, that violates the sensibilities of citizens, living in a multi cultural society. In the west blaring of loudspeakers, are strictly prohibited. Our nation must pass a legislation whereby, loudspeakers are effectively banned. The ear shattering decibels, are harmful to children, senior citizens and the ailing... also it is extremely irritating for citizens living in close proximity of these place of worship....

Bypassing the controversy, I wish to recall that about ten years ago, there was a major train accident in north Kerala before dawn and the nearby Masjid's Azan sound system was used to make announcements about it. The locals rushed to the site and helped in the rescue operations.

It is always improper to intentionally offend anyone's religion; and if someone is offended by your actions or words, they are not necessarily right, so Jossey think before you comment.

    for your information

The word adhan itself means "to listen".

    This is what is said in the adhan;

Allahu Akbar - God is Great

Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah - I bear witness that there is no god except the One God.

Ashadu anna Muhammadan Rasool Allah - I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God

Hayya 'ala-s-Salah - Hurry to the prayer (Rise up for prayer)

Hayya 'ala-l-Falah - Hurry to success (Rise up for Salvation)

Assalatu khairum-minan-naum - Prayer is better than sleep (This part is only recited for morning prayers.)

Allahu Akbar - God is Great

La ilaha illa Allah - There is no god except the One God

This is the worst part of religion, whenever anyone gets a chance, they just want to preach their own. But when it comes to practice, everyone is self righteous thinking they are the flag bearers of practicing the religion!

Light will always vanishes darkness. Good deeds will be always rewarded and the world is beautiful because of good people, good deeds.

I may or may not change anybody but at least, I can change myself. If I wear a clean glass, the world looks clean and beautiful.

Come on man. Grow up. Don't talk like communal sick. You are a Catholic and don't forget that even mikes and sounds are used in our community also, if you are not living in desert or forest then you must be aware of it. It is not necessary for every evil thing you blame them and when they do something good also you blame them. There are good people in every community. Don't forget that all the fingers in hand not the same.
Secondly there is no your God and our God. If you hear their adhan just close your eyes and hear it and you will feel the touch of God whome you believe in and he is talking to you. And also when you hear the Bajan from temples. But yes it depends how clean your heart, mind and soul is.

Pramila, i agree with your comment. You have said it beautifully. Every religious houses have loudspeakers and they use it during every prayer. Now, in this situation, where are the politicians who ignite the fire and sow the seeds of poison in between the communities and see them fighting and lose the lives? These so called politicians stand far safely, watch and laugh...seeing their efforts getting successful...

The street dog, in the lane, always barks. If we importance to it, it will bark more. If we ignore it, it will vanishes by itself, as there are nobody to give importance.

Every coin has 2 sides. Politicians, selfish religious leaders; all want to be given importance. I have put it into practice to ignore them.
