Bengaluru, Feb 2 (IANS): With 470 patients discharged in a day, recoveries outnumbered 388 new Covid cases in Karnataka, said the state health bulletin on Monday.
"Recoveries rose to 9,21,592, with 470 discharged in the last 24 hours, while 388 new positive cases on Sunday increased the state's Covid tally to 9,39,775, including 5,944 active cases," said the bulletin.
With three patients, including two in Bengaluru and one in Dakshina Kannada district succumbing to the infection in the day, the state's death toll rose to 12,220.
In Bengaluru, 201 fresh cases were registered on Sunday, taking the city's Covid tally to 3,99,087, including 3,780 active cases, while recoveries rose to 3,90,913, with 246 discharged in the day.
Of the 145 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs), 68 are in Bengaluru hospitals and 13 in Kalaburagi, with the rest spread over in the remaining 28 districts across the southern state.
Out of 53,316 cases tested during the day, 2,195 were through rapid-antigen detection and 51,121 through RT-PCR method.
Positivity rate was 0.72 per cent and case fatality rate 0.77 per cent on Sunday across the state.
"Anti-Covid vaccination drive remains suspended till February 3 due to the pulse polio programmes across the state since Sunday," added the bulletin.
