Mangaluru, Feb 1: In connection to vandalizing a bar and restaurant at Bendorewell on Saturday January 30 when a lady was celebrating her birthday along with her friends, the city (east) police have arrested three persons accused of involvement with the said act.
The arrested are Thrishool Salian (19), a rowdy sheeter under Urwa police station limits, Santhosh Poojary (19), from Kodical, and Dyanish Aran D'Cruz (18), from Dambel, Ashoknagar.
In a press meet, city police commissioner, N Shashi Kumar, said that when the birthday was being celebrated at a restaurant at Bendorewell on Saturday, the accused tried to molest a girl. When they were prevented from doing so by some persons, they attacked them with deadly weapons with the intention of murdering them. A case under different provisions as per the Indian Penal Code and Indian Arms Act was registered at city (east) police station.
Shahshi Kumar further said, “The 18-year-old girl who is pursuing her PU stays with her grandparents as her parents are in Canada. It is said that Thrishool Salian and the girl came to know each other through social media. Earlier, Thrishool had presented a gift to the girl meeting her at Bunts Hostel where he asked her continue being in a relationship with him. The girl had returned the gift asking him not to trouble her in future.
“Thrishool created a ruckus of small scale at Bunts Hostel and threatened her with a knife. On Saturday in the afternoon, when she was celebrating her birthday at the hotel, the three accused entered the hotel tried to attack the girl. Her friends who tried to protect her were attacked and one among them was injured.
“Thrishool is a rowdy sheeter who has cases under Bunder and Urwa police station limits.
