Mangaluru, Jan 30: Days after RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat triggered controversy stating that if the people of Ullal have guts they should elect a non-Muslim MLA from Mangaluru constituency, MLA U T Khader said, "Whoever calls any part of India as Pakistan are anti-nationals. Projecting any place of the country as Pakistan is against the constitution and democracy. Whoever while giving such statements should think before they speak."
He was speaking to the media at a programme marking the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Congress Bhavan office here on Saturday January 30.
"Why has he not come out of the house during the time of Covid pandemic to help Hindus, Muslims or Christians?
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, people were suffering in the hospitals with various health issues. Which hospital did he visit then? He has not come out due to fear. Without any fear of life, I had been to many hospitals. Why did he not come forward to oppose when the district administration did not allow the final rites of victims of Covid-19 of his own community to take place? Along with family members, we came to observe the final rites of victims of Covid-19. I have helped people as much as possible during the pandemic.
"What has he done? When people are in distress, he is not coming forward to help. People are suffering in hospital. Why has he not helped them? He cannot help Hindus nor ready to help Christians or Muslims. People choose representatives through their work.
“During elections, BJP has only one agenda and the same thing was expressed by this person,” Khader said.
