Udupi: DC to hold 'Village Stay' programme on Jan 30 to address grievances of villagers

Udupi, Jan 27: Additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu on Wednesday, January 27 said, "Deputy commissioner and the officials of revenue department will have a 'village stay' in Nencharu and Nalkuru villages of Brahmavar taluk on January 30 to address various issues of public."

"This is the first pilot programme in the entire state," he said.

He was speaking to the tahsildars and the taluk panchayat CEOs on the preparations to be made ahead of DC's village stay.

"The officials of the revenue department should receive applications pertaining to the grievances from the villagers of Necharu and Nalkuru. This should be done three days before the village stay programme and necessary steps for the same must be taken," Prabhu said.

"Also take measures to provide appropriate facilities to beneficiaries as per the applications," he added.

He also directed officials including tahsildar of the taluk, CEO of taluk panchayats and other officials to be present during the DC village stay.

On every third Saturday, deputy commissioner, deputy director of Land Records, assistant director of Land Records, sub-divisional assistant commissioner, tahsildar and revenue inspectors and village accountant will be present during the village stay. The village stay programme of DC will be held from 10 am to 5 pm, he informed.
