Puttur, Jan 27: A 29-year-old youth was killed in a road accident after his bike collided with a road divider on National Highway 75 in Uppinangady on Wednesday, January 27.

The deceased is identified as Kishor, a resident of Haleneranki village of Kalleri, son of late Venkatesh and Ratna. It is said Kishor was employed in a printing press in Thokkottu. The incident occurred when he was returning home from work on Tuesday, January 26.

Kishor, who was severely injured in the accident, was rushed to the hospital by an auto driver and others. Initially, he was admitted to a hospital in the city, however, he was soon shifted to a government hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

He is survived by wife, two sisters and mother. Kishor was married to a girl from Karkala and it had only been three weeks for their marriage.

On probe, it was found that a four sovereign gold chain that was worn by Kishor was missing after the accident.

    RIP

None follows traffic rules, changing of lanes safely, slow moving vehicles to be on extreme left lane, only use the fast lane for overtaking, move to right or turning lane only for taking the turns... rules of merging is unknown... knowledge of signs totally unaware... nobody knows where and when to overtake... on a two lane street drivers vehicle stays above the center lance and be in your lane.. and best of all vehicles/drivers driving against the oncoming traffic... in these cases accidents are bound to happen...

Very sad fatal accident, a young life is lost forever! May Kishore`s soul rest in peace. Sympathies to the family of the young man. The road dividers could be a great traffic hazard, especially while driving during night hours. This is particularly so for the two wheelers and they should always be extra careful. The snatching away of the gold chain from the victim is a low act and should be condemned!
