Udupi, Jan 26: Minister for fisheries S Angara did the flag hoisting in the city on Republic Day.
On the question of scribes whether he will be made the district in-charge minister, Angara said, "No I do not agree on that. That will be decided by the party and chief minister. I do not think that the opportunity given to me to do the flag hoisting today is not the indication of making me district in-charge."
Angara also said that he has understood the issues in the Fisheries department. But said that he needs to study the same and resolve them.
Speaking about the ministers who are disgruntled with the portfolio change, Angara said, "I will not say anything in that regard. I have come up with the culture of organization. All have to cooperate with the government.
"I have been MLA for six consecutive terms but never desired to be a minister. I have never gone behind power. It has followed me. We should have good feelings and thoughts when we say that we are one family. If we have the thought of BJP giving good governance, then these issues will not crop up.
"I have taken part in the district level programme for the first time. I was not expecting this. I am happy."
When questioned about the objections raised by the locals about developing Padukere beach, Angara said, "We will get the opinions of the local MLA, concerned department and locals. Based on that we will proceed further."
On the whole minister Angara agreed that he will accept the post of district in-charge if the party offers the same to him.
