Bengaluru, Jan 25: It seems that chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa is unable to pacify the internal disappointment that is brewing in the state BJP, in spite of cabinet expansion and changing of portfolios.
Yediyurappa has disgruntled MLAs, who did not get minister position, at one end. While there are ministers who are not happy with the portfolio allocation at the other. In addition, there are others who are not happy with re-allotment of portfolios. CM Yediyurappa is in a water tight situation, wherein he has to handle three kinds of unhappy people in state BJP now.
MLA Raju Gowda, who was demanding to give suitable representation to Kalyana Karnataka region of the state since a long time, is upset now. It is said that he will meet CM Yediyurappa on Tuesday and offer his resignation for the position of president of Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board.
Yediyurappa had taken off the medical education portfolio which was with health minister Dr K Sudhakar during the recent cabinet expansion. Due to this reason, Dr Sudhakar was unhappy. Now the CM has decided to return the medical education department back to Dr Sudhakar. It is said that Yediyurappa is trying to give the tourism ministry, which is with Anand Singh, to Madhuswamy in order to pacify him. It is learnt that Madhuswamy's anger has further risen due to this move of the CM. Anand Singh is also irate as per party sources.
It is said that Madhuswamy is questioning the CM with his close aides, for the loss of respect of the minister when the portfolio is changed every now and then. He is thinking of resigning from the cabinet, it is learnt. He is not even receiving the calls from Yediyurappa. It has come to light that minister Ashok is trying to pacify Madhuswamy.
Close aides of Anand Singh have disclosed that he is not happy due to the removal of the tourism portfolio from him. But when the scribes contacted, Anand Singh said, "I do not have any regret. Even if I am not made a minister I do not mind. As per the promise the CM is making a separate Vijayanagara district. That is enough for me." However, it is also known that he is expressing his unhappiness about the decisions the CM is taking with respect to the re-allotment of portfolios. According to his close aides, Anand Singh is also thinking of resigning.
