Mangaluru, Jan 24: The city police on Saturday January 23 raided a lodge at Attavar here and arrested two men, and rescued two women.
Acting on a complaint filed by a woman, a police team raided Amanthrana lodge in Attavar, where they found that prostitution was being carried out in rooms 211 and 212.
Two customers were taken into custody and based on their statements, accused Chandrashekhar, manager of the lodge and Harish Poojary, room boy were arrested by the police. Two women were rescued.
On January 22, a suo motu case under ITP law was registered in the women police station in the city, based on the information that persons identified as Chandrashekhar, Harish Poojary and Sandeep were carrying out prostitution at the lodge.
Head constables Mani and Jacob, constables Dhanalaxmi and Safreena were part of the raid operation.
