Mangalore, Jun 18: Forty eco-sensitive artists from all over the city will draw paintings on the negative aspects of reckless industrialization in the guise of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the eco-sensitive Dakshina Kannada (DK) district on Saturday June 19 between 9.30 am to 5.00 pm at Sandesha Foundation.
They will paint on a 40-meter long canvas themed ‘Kuncha Kahale—Cry of the Canvas,’ as part of the art camp and signature campaign on the effects of MSEZ on the ecology.
The fragile eco-sensitive DK district has witnessed acquisition of fertile farmlands for setting up of the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) in the recent past.
As responsible citizens, artists have come together to protest in a creative way through this event to draw the attention of the general public towards an issue of great concern, in order to secure the future for the next generation.
