Panaji, Jun 16: Goa Bench of Bombay High court today rejected bail petition filed by Israeli drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu, who had sough the bail citing various anomalies in the procedure adopted by police while arresting him.

Justice U D Salvi rejected the bail plea dismissing the contention of technical procedural lapses cited by Driham’s lawyer.

Carlose Fereira, representing the state, said that various omissions cited by the applicant pleading for the bail could be discussed during the trial stage.

He said that the accused was arrested with cocktail of drugs, which shows that he is a drug peddler.

Dudu was arrested on  February 21, 2010 for possessing narcotic substance.

34-year-old drug peddler was arrested at Anjuna by anti narcotic cell (ANC) police when he arrived in his car carrying contrabands.

The alleged drug dealer, who is currently lodged at central jail Aguada, had said that the letter written by investigating officer Sunil Gudlar to deputy superintendent of police informing about the raid is fabricated.

“The covering letter addressed to DySP has such a wealth of factual material added therein that it could only have been created subsequent to the accused being apprehended,” the petition filed before high court reads.

He said that very basis of the raid has been fabricated.

The lawyer representing Driham had said that factually, there are inherent anomalies in the documentary evidence which go to the root of the matter and which create reasonable grounds for believing that the accused was not guilty of the offence for which he stands arrested.

Police have registered offence under narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances against Driham for possessing 144 Ecstacy tablets, heroin powder, Cocaine, Liquid LSD and Charas.
