Bengaluru, Jan 12: Aditya Alva, main accused in the Sandalwood drugs scandal, stands arrested from Chennai. He was taken into custody by the central crime branch (CCB) personnel. Alva, son of former minister Jeevaraj Alva, had succeeded in evading arrest for the last four months.
Alva was named as the sixth accused in the drugs case. He had fled immediately after learning that the first information report was registered against him. The CCB police had issued a lookout notice for him on September 21. Aditya, instead of seeking bail from the court, had approached the high court seeking the cancellation of the FIR lodged against him.
Immediately after they realized that Aditya Alva had a role in the drug case, had raided his house at Hebbal and also his resort. Drugs were found during these raids. Resort manager, Ramdas, was taken into custody and questioned.
Aditya had close contact with actresses Ragini, Sanjana, apart from Viren Khanna and others. He used to hold Page 3 parties in his House of Life resort, it is said. Even during the corona lockdown, he used to arrange parties to which well-known businessmen and techies were invited, it is said. Ecstasy tablets, LLT strips etc were used at the party.
The drugs mafia case is registered in Cottonpet police station here. Actresses Ragini Dwivedi, Sanjana Galrani and drug peddlers were remanded to judicial custody. Sanjana has since secured bail in the case.
