Bengaluru, Jan 10: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his paramour and her mother by slitting their throat at Baichapura of Devanahalli taluk in Bengaluru Rural district here on Sunday January 10.
Malaya Parida (40) allegedly killed Ramadevi (30) and her mother Laxmidevi (50).
The family, of Orissa origin, was living in a rented house in the city. It is said that the accused was living with the daughter and mother, without getting married to the daughter. The mother was reportedly pressuring the man to end the live-in relationship and get married to her daughter, which the man refused to do. It is suspected that anger over this issue led to the double murder.
Accused Malaya Parida and Ramadevi have a five-month old baby. Hence Laxmidevi, mother of Ramadevi was pestering Parida to get married to his daughter.
The accused, who was enraged by the repeated pleas, killed her at midnight and informed the matter to Ramadevi after waking her up. She started screaming on seeing her mother murdered by the accused. The accused then killed her too, reports said.
After killing the two women, the accused went to the police and surrendered himself.
Devanahalli police have reported to the spot and registered a case. Mortal remains of both the women have been sent to Devanahalli government hospital for post-mortem.
