Beltangady, Jan 9: Police have already arrested six people in the kidnap case of a boy, who was playing in front of his house in Car Street of Ujire in the taluk. One more accused, who was absconding since the incident, was arrested by police.
Naveen (28), a resident of Chamarajanagar, is the accused who is arrested by Beltangady police.
It might be recalled that Anubhav (8), son of Ujire entrepreneur Bijoy, a resident of Car Street in Ujire, was kidnapped in cinema style, while he was playing near his house, by a gang of culprits, who placed a demand for Rs 17 crore for the boy's release.

The police, who acted swiftly, identified the boy kept in a house at Kolar by the kidnappers and rescued him. Six people were arrested on December 19 and produced before the Malur magistrate by the police. Now they arrested Naveen, the seventh accused in the case.
