Mangaluru, Jan 6: In their drive against drug peddlers and habitual abusers, officers and staff of economic and narcotic crime police station, Mangaluru arrested three people on Wednesday, January 6. The arrest took place near Kadri-Paduva along National Highway 66 while the accused were attempting to sell ganja.
Two of the accused arrested hail from Maharashtra, Santos Vasant Ahir (29) and Dilip Nagrao Godgi (41) while, Imran Zubair (32) is a resident of Jeppu, Marnamikatte in the city.
The officials seized 2.550 kg of ganja worth Rs 75,000, a two-wheeler worth Rs 30,000, three mobile phones worth Rs 11,500 and cash Rs 1,030. The total worth of all the items seized is Rs 1,17,530.
The arrest was made under the guidance of Mangaluru police commissioner Shashi Kumar, under the directions of DCPs Hariram Shankar, Vinay Gaonkar, Satish M P. PSI and the staff of economic and narcotic crime police station, Mangaluru worked towards the successful arrest of the accused.
