Bengaluru: 'Leaving Congress, joining JD(S)', says MLC C M Ibrahim

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jan 6: Congress MLC C M Ibrahim said that he is joining JD(S) and leaving Congress.

Speaking to scribes in MLA's auditorium in the city, Ibrahim said, "I am not joining JD(S) because I want to hold some position. I am joining in order to contribute something to the state and country."

At the same time, questioning Uttar Pradesh chief minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath, Ibrahim asked, "Is UP CM Adithyanath married? Does he know what love is? According to him what is Love Jihad?"

He further said, "Farmers are protesting in Delhi. Throughout the country farmers are in distress. There is no surprise even the same situation arrives in Karnataka. I have already visited eight districts in our state. Something good should happen to our state. I will bring two oxen to till the land. Will chief minister B S Yediyurappa do the ploughing? Yediyurappa is in his residence Keshavakripa. The BJP government, instead of looking into the wellbeing of farmers, is trying to attract the attention of the public by bringing acts on banning cow slaughter and love jihad. I will meet Sharad Pawar soon. I will go to Bihar and meet Nitish Kumar also. Now all are united. In Karnataka, some alternative force has to be established.

"Due to bad deeds, Ravana died. Mahishasura got decimated. I had said that Congress will not win the assembly elections as well as the by-elections. Accordingly, Congress has lost. I am not into fortune telling. But God has given me little knowledge. Right now I will not give out any clue. I will meet Deve Gowda and discuss.

"Did anybody foresee that Siddaramaiah will become the CM of Karnataka? I advised him to contest from Badami as I could make out that he is going to lose in Chamundi. I had also informed him that the month of December will bring changes in the political scenario of Karnataka. Accordingly, in the month of February and March there have been many changes. Tents of Modi and Yediyurappa are under fire. Now all are running away from them for their life.

"Are son-father duo in JD(S) only? Is it not there in Congress and RJD? Farmers preserve some seeds in order to grow the next crop. Accordingly, Deve Gowda is determined to build the party. Even now there is enough time for people to join JD(S). It is true that Prabhakar Kore and Umesh Katti met me and held a discussion. D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are also good friends of mine. RSS is also friendly with me. Many have come to my house.

"I would have been a Muslim leader long ago, had I wished. I do not have any greed of that sort. I do not have any fear to say that I am deserting Congress and joining JD(S),” he said.

What a misfortune there are only 3 parties in Karnataka, even though technically it is 2 1/2 parties as JDS is half Congress and half BJP. Ibrahim has limited opportunity to do musical chair act with more parties. He has opted the easier way to be friendly with ruling party by to opting for JDS and also he has ensured that he doesn't hurt his folliewers feeling by joining BJP, but get his pound of flesh by being frirndly with the ruleing party

Glad that MLC CM. Ibrahim left Congress. Those who think, he is a asset to Congress party, it is wrong. Now State Congress President is DK. Shivkumar. He will build the party on Congress ideology and not on vote bank politics.
