Bengaluru: Tussle for supremacy - Top leadership alerted against Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 2: With an eye on the next assembly election, Congress leaders have been doing their best to project themselves as above the others, duly showing the others in poor light, in order to emerge as undisputed leaders. As the competition for hogging the limelight sometimes turns ugly and unwarranted, there are reports that the party's national leadership has been approached with complaints against Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar, and former chief minister and leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah.

A faction within the party has been unhappy with the way Siddaramaiah has been working, duly blaming him for not respecting the idea of collective leadership. A few legislators have also raised their voices against D K Shivakumar in the party forums, accusing him of not taking others along, not organizing the party at the grassroot level and not raising voice against the government. Even the high command has reportedly analysed that lack of coordination between the leaders and the inability to take everyone along have been the major reasons for the party's lacklustre performance in different levels of elections.

A team led by an MLC, in a letter addressed to the high command, said that everything is not well within the party. The group said that the policy of collective leadership is not being followed and leaders are trying to project themselves individually. They have warned that this will hurt the party's future prospects. They have mentioned about Siddaramaiah's ambition to fight from Chamrajpet constituency and expressed the wish that this attempt should be foiled. It is said that a few MLAs of the party, under the leadership of a council member who has a good rapport with the national leadership, held a meeting to discuss the issues.

Even D K Shivakumar has been accused of not taking others with him and in spite of being the state president of the party, of not raising his voice against the chief minister. His detractors feel that even when there were enough chances to floor the ruling party, Shivakumar has been allowing the opportunities to slip away. Several such letters have reportedly gone to the national leaders of the party.

The other charge Shivakumar's opponents have levelled is that he takes into confidence only the people's representatives from his family and not taking leaders into confidence even at the state level. It would be pertinent to recall that former union minister K H Muniyappa, had mentioned about lack of coordination within the party at a meeting here.

In the meantime, Shivakumar has taken a decision to tour the state from January 5 to  18 during which he plans to meet block Congress presidents and listen to their grievances and opinions. He said 2021 will be the year of strengthening the organization for his party and that he will carry on the fight by keeping in mind local problems.

Siddu has destroyed CONgress in state. He made party loose power from 123 seats to 64 in Assembly and could win only 1 LS seat against 9 CONgress held in state. He's a complete failure, having lost in own seat Chamundeshwari by huge margin.

What is the point of having these supreme leaders? Eventually they have to obtain help from JDS to form Govt and we all know Ragi Mudde Kumaraswamy will not give them on a platter.
At the end it will be JDS ruling on their terms. Also looking at the current trend, other regional parties have strengthened their vote base. Revival of Congress looks even more a doubt as more Hurdles to cross.

When Congress will learn lessons from past mistakes ? DKS and Siddu first of all should mingle , cooperate and keep a good relationship with other senior leaders . There are some diehard and loyal leaders like HK Patil , KH Munisppa Dr G Paramedhwar etc in congress party . They are not happy with DKS and Siddus leadership . If there is no unity among leaders Congress will be like sinking ship ! And there will not be any future for party

Why do you hate Congress so much Jossey?
Sidhu destroyed Congress in Karnataka, DKS is just reviving it.
Now you want Sidhu to go to Delhi and destroy whatever is remaining of Congress there?

    Jossey,
Siddaramiah could not save himself in his own bastion and was booted out from Chamundeshwari. He then fled to Badami where he just managed to win on Muslim votes. So what will he do in Delhi , where no one knows him?. Moreover Cong has no presence in Delhi.

Just read the post of Isabella from santa cruz and educate yourself, no politician is honest all of them are there to make money. If they were honest they would have voluntarily given up their salaries and perks during covid time as the parliament nor the assemblies were functioning.

No matter who comes into power around the country, what will they do? Apart from filling their own pockets. All these oldies who are hungry for money never retire even if its high time for them to move their butts off the seat. But in having said that, some of the younger people aren't that great either. Humans just run after money and once they start making it, no one cares for the country and others. And the people run behind them like idiots, screaming their name and papping their every move. Indians just need to chill. Stop giving these people so much attention. Be it politicians or other famous celebrities. Politicians are supposed to help the country move towards greatness, they're supposed to help people. But the only people these politicians are helping are the people who don't need their help. The once that need their help are still struggling.
