Mumbai, Jun 7: The monsoon arrived in the metro on the morning of Sunday June 6. It rained sparsely across the metro on Sunday morning for almost 10 minutes.
The Mumbaikars’ enjoyed the cool breeze and the moderate showers that brought down the soaring temperature.
Traffic across the metro was not affected as it rained only for a brief while. The metro witnessed the harshest summer this year and an acute scarcity of drinking water.
The meteorology department forecast further rains overnight and the state-owned public utilities providers and police have geared up to take earnest measures to avoid any possible havoc.
The civic authorities also issued circulars to help citizens face the onset of the monsoon.
