Bengaluru, Dec 25: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, D K Shivakumar, in a wry remark, said he wants to know the name of the person who came out with the night curfew idea. "I want to procure a photograph of this person and keep it in my home," he ridiculed.
Speaking on Friday December 25, Shivakumar said he was not worried about health minister Sudhakar but wondered why B S Yediyurappa had become so fragile.
"Nod was given for the night curfew idea without discussing it with anyone. Before taking such a decision, one should have applied common sense. This is a decision which has been taken by the people who lack this quality," he commented.
Shivakumar said that not only his own party, but the members of the BJP opposed the night curfew and that is why it was withdrawn. He added that the people of the state have better knowledge than the ministers."This is the question of the honour of our state. How can we believe that people moving around during the day do not spread the virus but at night the infection spreads," he quipped. He took the government to task for not using common sense in this aspect.
"Let the government extend help to the people suffering because of COVID, instead of taking such decisions. They have not reduced taxes for the entrepreneurs, nor have waived interest. Hotels are not even getting 40 percent of their normal business. After this government took over, it has been taking U-turns frequently, and the people have lost count of how many times this has happened," he decried.
He turned his ire against health minister Dr K Sudhakar, commenting that he has seen many people coming out on bail and that time will judge everything. He took Sudhakar personally to task for keeping his swimming plool open when all other pools had been closed, referring to a photo of the pool Sudhakar had posted a few months back."
