Mangaluru, Dec 2: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that Rs six lac ex-gratia is released to the family of each fisherman who died in the tragedy when the huge boat in which they went for fishing got capsized at around 15 nautical miles from Bunder port of the city.
Tweeting on this subject, Srinivas Poojary said, "Rs six lac each is released to the families of fishermen who died in the boat tragedy that occurred in deep sea as per the direction of chief minister B S Yediyurappa. I console the families of the deceased and also assure that I will try to get more compensation for them."

Speaking to scribes during the visit to the mortuary of Wenlock hospital in the city, Poojary said, "Inquiry is being conducted with regards to the cause of the accident. Mortal remains of the remaining fishermen, who drowned in the tragedy, will be searched and brought to surface soon. As the bodies are entangled inside the fishing net, the process is getting delayed."
