Udupi, Dec 1: In preparation for the upcoming Paryaya period beginning in 2022, Bale Muhoortha, one among the four Muhoortas to be performed before the Swamiji next in line takes over Paryaya, was performed by Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji of Sri Krishnapur math on Monday November 30.
Bale Muhoortha was performed at Dhanurlagna muhoortham as per custom. Coconut, banana and sugarcane saplings were planted in the backyard of Krishnapur Math.
Before that, a mass prayer and pooja were performed at Sri Krishna Math, Lord Anantheshwara temple, Chandramouleshwara temple, Lord Mukhyaprana shrine, Subrahmanya shrine, Navagraha shrine and the Vrindavan.
Following the mass prayer, banana saplings were carried in a procession through Car Street accompanied by traditional tabloids, musical instruments etc.
Navadhanya was offered to the representatives of Madhwa Math, Chandramouleshwara temple including the Ashta Maths.
All religious rituals were led by Ambalpady Purohit Srinivas Upadhya.
After the Swamiji of Krishnapur Math, speaking to media persons said, "I am expecting everyone's cooperation to successfully accomplish the next two years of Paryaya. It would not be possible for one person to achieve such a mammoth task. Your presence has instilled confidence in me.
"Coconut and banana are pure fruits. I will give priority to laying emphasis on our rich culture and traditions, which have been handed down by our Gurus and ancestors since the last several centuries. Worship of nature means worship of God. It is a huge Yajna. According to Guru Vadiraja, there are Pancha Mahotsavas called Nethrotsava, Shravanotsava, Arthotsava, Bhojanotsava and Mahotsava. I wish the same kind of support will continue to be extended to me for the future programmes.
"I did not invite many people in order to follow the Covid protocol. I hope devotees will understand the present situation. I just seek blessings of Lord Sri Krishna for the smooth Paryaya beginning in 2022,” he said.
