Kundapur, Nov 30: The Manmaharotsava festival of Sri Kotilingeshwara temple was celebrated at Koteshwar, one of the seven pilgrim centres of coastal Karnataka on Monday, November 30. The religious rituals were conducted before the pulling of the chariot began.

Shatarudrabhisheka and other rituals were also performed for the deity. The crowd was gathered in large numbers, however, amid coronavirus restrictions, access was allowed to only a limited number of devotees.

Newlyweds offered 'Kodi' (sugarcane) as per customs to God. Unlike other years, this year given the prevailing situations, celebrations held were more on the modest side. Except for the religious rituals no other celebrations like shops or fairs were set up on the occasion.

Special arrangements were made as per the directions by the temple executive to facilitate the devotees who visit the temple. Tight security arrangements were made under the leadership of Kundapur DySP for the festival.
