Mangaluru, Nov 30: "The developmental works that are taking place in Car Street under the Smart City project at a cost of Rs 17 crore are almost complete. So movement of two wheelers will be allowed from December 1," said MLA Vedavyas Kamath.
Kamath spoke to the scribes during his visit to Car Street on Monday, November 30 to view the progress of work, along with the officials of Smart City project, said, "Concretization of road is almost complete. Only the works related to underground drainage and Mescom are pending. So, in order to make convenient for the local traders and public, two wheeler movement will be allowed in Car Street from December 1.
"People of this locality have whole-heartedly cooperated with the administration during the carrying out of works. Because of their cooperation the works could be completed fast. I have discussed with the concerned officials with regards to completing the pending underground drainage and Mescom works. The remaining work will be completed as soon as possible and all kinds of vehicular movement will be allowed within a week,” he said.
Poornima, local MCC corporator and president of health standing committee, BJP leaders Muralidhar Nayak, Ramesh Hegde, Hari Prasad, president of citizens welfare committee Hanumantha Kamath, Smart city officers Lingegowda, Arun Prabha, Mescom officials, BJP workers and locals were present.
