Puttur, Nov 26: Vehicular traffic between B C Road and Addahole has been hit hard by the wretched condition of the road. At the same time, the re-tender process of the repair of the national highway between B C Road and Addahole has also been agonisingly slow.
Even though a nine-month tender for repair and maintenance of the highway has been finalised and work has started, the contractors do not seem to be in a hurry. Patchwork done in some places recently has already peeled off due to recent rains. Vehicular traffic has been hit hard at places like Narahari Parvatha cross, Kalladka, Mani, Budoli, Gadiyara, Perne etc as the road is in a very bad state.
People who have to tread this often like drivers and passengers of private and KSRTC buses and others have been furious at the National Highways Authority of India. At places like Narahari Parvatha cross, the road is narrow, steep and has potholes where heavy trucks have to move very slowly. This has been causing traffic blocks as other vehicles too cannot move ahead.
