Udupi, Nov 26: BJP district president Suresh Nayak Kuyiladi said in a press conference in the city that ‘Gram Swarajya Samavesha’ is organized at two places in the district on November 27 as prelude to the gram panchayat elections.
Speaking in the press conference that was held at the BJP office at Kadiyali on Thursday November 26, Nayak further said, "The first convention at Kundapur will be flagged off by the state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel after getting Darshan of Lord Sri Krishna in the Math and doing Go pooja.
"Convention related to Udupi rural, Kundapur and Byndoor mandalas will be held at 11 am at Saraswati Kalyana Mantapa of Koteshwar. The other convention pertaining to Udupi city, Kaup and Karkala mandalas will be held at 3 pm at Amrit Garden near Sri Laxmi Venkatesha temple, Ambagilu-Puttur Udupi.
"Out of the 154 gram panchayats in the district, there was BJP supported administration in 98. In the coming elections, we are aiming at winning more than 130 gram panchayats. At the gram panchayat level family get together programmes are arranged along with Pancharatna samiti and nomination of Page Pramukhs.
"MP of Dakshina Kannada and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Shobha Karandlaje, BJP state chief secretary Mahesh Tenginakai, state president of Mahila Morcha Geetha Vivekananda, S Muniswamy and the MLAs of the district will take part in the convention. In total, six teams will conduct this type of conventions throughout the state.
"In the convention, along with gram panchayat pramukhs, MPs, MLAs, office bearers of district BJP, officer bearers of district morcha-mandala, president of mandala morcha and chief secretaries, pramukhs of mahashakti kendra and shakti kendra, elected members of zilla panchayat, taluk panchayat and agricultural produce market and election leads of gram panchayat elections of mandalas will take part.
"Our team of workers is in upbeat mood to win each and every gram panchayat in the district,” he said.
Udupi district president Dinakar Babu, district spokesperson Guruprasad Shetty Katapadi, district co spokesperson Shivakumar Ambalpadi and convener of district media section Srinidhi Hegde were present.
