Mangalore: Counting of Votes – Liquor Ban, Prohibitory Orders, Enforced in District

Mangalore, May 15: As counting of votes in respect of the recently held gram panchayat election is being taken up on Monday May 17, the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district has enforced prohibitory orders under section 144 (1) in the entire district from 6 am on May 17 to 6 am on Tuesday.

A release from the office of the deputy commissioner also said that dray day has been declared in Dakshina Kannada district from 10.30 pm on May 16 to midnight on May 17 as precautionary law and order measure on the occasion of counting of votes.

    Wow !! I miss this part, it was like a treasure hunt during these days to find liqour, running around to all the wine stores to see whos open.
