Bengaluru, Nov 20: It is almost certain that Love Jihad and cow slaughter will be banned in Karnataka. There is a possibility that the laws with regards to these will be brought into implementation soon. Serious discussions are taking place in government circles in respect of this matter.
BJP state unit tweeted that state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel has appealed and suggested to the state government in this regard. It is also learnt that BJP national chief secretary C T Ravi has had a discussion with Prabhu Chauhan, state minister for animal husbandry with regards to implementing the law on banning cow slaughter. BJP government has already formed a committee to implement the law against cow slaughter. BJP state unit tweeted that the law will be implemented in the next session of the assembly.
C T Ravi has clarified this matter with the press on Friday, November 20. Ravi said, "BJP core committee has given its go-ahead for the implementation of laws on Love Jihad and prohibition of cow slaughter. The voice to introduce the cow slaughter ban is fierce than before. The thought is being given to bring stringent law. I have discussed the matter with the animal husbandry minister. Both of these laws will be implemented in the upcoming winter session."
"Cow slaughter ban law should have been implemented during the rule of the earlier government. However, due to political reasons, the same was not enacted. We have read in history the ban on cow slaughter during the rule of king Akbar. The present law on cow protection is not strict. A fine of only Rs 59,000 is levied on the offenders and they are let free. This will not result in the actual cow slaughter ban. There is a need to form a stringent law in the lines of those implemented in Uttar Pradesh and other states."
Responding on the subject of opposition to the cow slaughter ban by former CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah, C T Ravi said, "I will ask Siddaramaiah why is he opposing the law as he does not belong to the clan of butchers. Siddaramaiah himself says that he used to tend cows and buffaloes. Those who have looked after cows and buffaloes will not tolerate their slaughter."
Responding to the criticism Siddaramaiah has done on RSS, Ravi said, "Siddaramaiah speaks so as he does not have knowledge about RSS. Sangh Parivar honours everyone who has worked for the nation. He should have visited the offices of RSS to know more. Let him at least send his grandchildren to the branches of RSS."
Reacting fiercely to the accusation of Kharge that RSS is dividing the country, Ravi said, "Whose father gave permission for the division of the country? Let him tell during whose reign the country was divided. Whose fathers colluded with JKLF and played politics? Whose mothers are behind the issue of Bhindranwale? Whose fathers opposed article 370 along with JKLF?"
Ravi also said that the BJP is committed to banning SDPI and PFI organizations in the state. There is no change in that stance. Action will be taken according to law. Recommendation to ban these organizations in the state will be sent to the union government with all the relevant proofs.
Ravi also said that union home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J P Nadda are going to Tamil Nadu on Saturday. There they will discuss with the top brasses of BJP. Assembly elections will be in 2021 in Tamil Nadu and meeting will be held to plan the strategy.
Former minister C T Ravi is also the in-charge of BJP unit of Tamilnadu. So he is taking an active part in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. BJP is trying to woo cine actor Rajinikanth to their party. There is also rumour that Amit Shah will meet Talaivar. Responding to this Ravi said that as of now there is no itinerary in the list of Amit Shah to meet Rajinikanth. Only a change in itinerary might make way for such a meeting.
Speaking on the extension of the State Cabinet, Ravi said, "CM will speak with BJP high command. He is efficient. Those who are aspiring for the ministerial position should discuss the same on the party forum. Party will not tolerate any behaviour which will cause an embarrassment to the party. Some people are thinking that indulging in groupism accounts for merit."
