Mandya, Nov 17: After the off the cuff remark made by Kodagu-Mysuru MP Pratap Simha, about Mandya MP Sumalatha, became public, an indirect fight appears to have begun between the two. Pratap Simha reportedly had criticised Sumalatha's working style when speaking to an official. Recording of this conversation soon became viral in the social media and Sumalatha naturally is upset that she has been branded as lethargic and non-cooperative.
On Monday November 16, Sumalatha said she would have responded to the remark made by Pratap Simha if he had addressed her respectably. "He has passed a comment on the line the ‘Pete Rowdys’ (city ruffians) do. I have faced such statements during the election. No one had the courage to pass such remarks as long as my husband Ambareesh, was alive. After he passed away, people have been issuing such statements," she said.

She said that it is natural for the people to approach MPs with various requests. "Even though K R Nagar falls under Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency, when I visit Mandya, people approach me with demands pertaining to this region. It is a normal happening and it would be wrong to give it publicity. People from that constituency keep telling me that the roads are not properly maintained and drains are absent etc, but I have never spoken out about the MP. The people are already giving him a fitting reply in social media. Pratap Simha should take note of them before issuing statements further," she said.
