Kasargod: Pedestrian attacked by wild boar, dies of profuse bleeding

Kasargod, Nov 14: In a tragic incident that occurred at Kubanoor near Bandyodu of Uppala in the district, a pedestrian was suddenly attacked by a wild boar. He died in the hospital in Mangaluru.

This incident took place around 6 am on Saturday November 14 near Kubanoor school. The deceased is identified as Rajesh (41), a resident of Kubanoor. Rajesh was a centering labourer and was going to work as usual. A wild boar which approached from the nearby forest, hit Rajesh and knocked him down. Then the wild boar pierced his neck with its tusk which caused profuse bleeding. Though the locals took the severely injured Rajesh to hospital in Mangaluru, he succumbed to his injuries.

Rajesh is the son of former member of Mangalpady gram panchayat Babu and late Kalyani. He was married to Subhashini and had become the father of a baby just a month ago. It is learnt that just a week ago, the cradling ceremony of the baby had taken place in their house.

The deceased is survived by brothers Narayana, Rukmakara and sister Nalini. The post mortem of the mortal remains was conducted in Mangaluru.

    Now wild animals are really a threat to people .Very sad ,that he cant see his child growing ,and child will not see him any more,play with him talk to him any more.May be wild boar had younger cubs.Animals always try to keep their cubs safe and get wild in someone nears .Forest dept .must try to compansate his family .He was really a victim of wild animal.

    Since Mar 2018, Kerala Government is compensating Rs.10 lacs to those killed in wild animal attacks. Earlier this amount was Rs. 5 lacs. But this is too meagre an amount for a family who loses their bread-winner.

    Wild bores are very dangerous.It destroys the grown vegetables. Coconut trees and other plants as well.Even dogs scared to go near to it .we are facing daily challenges .As per Government cannot kill these animals.
