Many parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi receive good rain

Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 14: Some parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi received good rainfall on the evening of Friday, November 13.

Shirva in Udupi district received rain on the evening of Friday. Mangaluru city received copious amount of rain in the evening and night of Friday. Public life was thrown out of gear due to unexpected rainfall. Mangaluru experienced chill and foggy weather on the morning of Friday.

Parts of Bantwal taluk including Vittal, Kanyana and Punjalakatte received good rain. Four trees fell on the road and caused traffic jam near Baja-Kayarpalke on Manihalla-Sarapadi road due to heavy winds.

Puttur, Uppinangady, Kadaba, Beltangady, Dharmasthala, Ujire, Madanthyar, Surathkal, Kotekar and Ullal reported of heavy rainfall.

At Bilinele near Subrahmanya heavy rainfall was reported on the evening of Friday. Traffic got jammed due to falling of a huge tree on the state highway on Subrahmanya-Dharmasthala state highway. A tree fell on the electric wire near Aithoor Nettana Bilinele and caused traffic jam.

According to the Indian meteorological department, good rainfall is expected in some parts of coastal Karnataka in the next two days. The report also said that foggy weather with chill will also be there.
