Bengaluru, Nov 13: In the view of reopening of colleges and hostels in the state from November 17, the SoP issued by the Government of Karnataka requires all teachers, students and non-teaching staff of colleges and hostels to submit a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test report. This procedure is to be done within 72 hours before the day of the reopening of classes, a press release by the state government stated.
The state government has also ordered the concerned authorities to make necessary arrangements for the collection of the nasal and throat swabs and testing of the same. The health staff is also required to collect samples from teachers, students and non-teaching staff of both colleges and hostels without any delays and facilitate quick testing.
Once results have arrived they will be forwarded via SMS to the number registered on the ICMR portal. The results can be also accessed by visiting www.covidwar.karnataka.gov.in/service1, stated the release.
The labs have been also directed to carry out testing of the samples received through pooled (1:5) testing process and upload the results on the ICMR portal immediately.
Deputy commissioners of all the districts, special commissioners, health BBMP have been instructed to monitor the testing so that the process is carried out in a hassle-free manner, the press release maintained.
