Puttur, Nov 13: A case has been registered against a youth who allegedly earned the friendship of a lady by posing as a Hindu on Facebook. He then undertook pilgrimage in the girl's company, clicked photographs during the visit, and uploaded them in the social media and thus cheated the girl.
It is said that Abdul Razak (25), son of Sheikh Ismail, resident of Palathadka House in Mardhala, Bantra village, Kadaba taluk, had claimed himself to be Khushik alias Sanju. He had mentioned in his Facebook post that he had no parents and wanted to have some good friends. He had sent friend request to a girl aged 24 from Kaukrady village. The girl trusted him, accepted his friend request, and shared her WhatsApp number. Thereafter the two were regularly in touch with each other.
On November 1, after getting the approval of the girl's family, the girl had visited Dharmasthala in the company of the youth. He had then got himself photographed in the company of the girl, duly wearing the Prasadam across his forehead. Razak had uploaded this photo later in social media. During this time, he was identified as a Muslim youth.
A complaint filed in Uppinangady police station has accused Razak of faking himself with malicious intentions, giving false information and deceiving etc. Police sources said that the accused also has a fake Facebook account in the name of Kanakaraju.
