Udupi, Nov 12: "The aim of politics is not only politics, not even power. Building a nation that is worshipped by the world is the only goal. Power is the tool. The then union minister Shyam Prasad Mukherjee quit Congress party saying that the policy of Congress is not right and joined BJP. Various people choose various professions. My choice is politics," said state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel in a programme that was held here on Thursday November 12.
Nalin was speaking at the training workshop organized by BJP, Mangaluru division, at Hotel Sharada International.
Nalin further said, "We worship ideals than individuals in BJP. That is Bharath Matha. Power is not the only aim. It is just a tool. Building the nation is our goal. The only slogan of a BJP worker, however much he ascends in power, is 'Bharath Matha Ki Jai'. We have never compromised our working style and ideology of the party. In working style, training is also a part. Training turns a worker into an achiever. Thereby the strength of the organization increases. Our elders dreamt of building the country through this method.
"Our elders saw the building of this country through building of individuals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the perfect example, where a cowherd can become the premier of a country when opportunity arises. Through practice one gets culture.
"Congress, which began by making India free of British slavery, forgot the ideology of the party after some time due to the greed of power. They forgot to say ‘Bharath Matha Ki Jai’. Instead they chanted Nehru Ki Jai, Indira Gandhi Ki Jai and Rajiv Ki Jai. Family politics led to classification on the basis of caste. That is why they started minority.
"Training strengthens ideology. The only aim of BJP is to win every booth in the coming election. Then it will remain forever. That will be taught by training. All preparations are done to face two assembly and Lok Sabha elections. We are 100% confident of victory.
"There is no discussion with regards to the change of leadership in state BJP. B S Yediyurappa will continue as chief minister for the next two and half years. In Congress some are self-proclaimed leaders. Tiger was pushed by a boulder.” He ridiculed Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar by referring them to tiger and boulder respectively.
"Musical chair has started in Congress. Without winning the election, they are declaring themselves as chief ministers. There is chaos in the leadership of Congress party. BJP will win more than 30 seats in the next election. BJP should believe in organizational power. BJP has the power of making a party worker as leader,” he said.
District BJP president Kuyiladi Suresh Nayak, Mangaluru division in-charge Uday Kumar Shetty, district president of Dakshina Kannada BJP Sudarshan, member of Prashikshana Prakoshta state team Manjula and divisional co-incharge Gopalakrishna Herale were present.
