Udupi, Nov 4: "If Dr B R Ambedkar was born in Upper caste, people would have treated him like God. Caste system in our society will never get erased, it will rather be the same as it was before," said state SC Morcha president Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.
"Effort is essential in SC Morcha and one should make himself noticed through efforts. Scheduled caste population is more in Karnataka and no one can deny this truth," he added.
Chalavadi Narayanaswamy was speaking at the district level SC Morcha leaders’ meeting that was organized by the state BJP SC Morcha held at BJP office in Kadiyali here on Wednesday, November 4.
"Politics is important as sometimes even the people who have leadership qualities end up taking a backseat," he said.
"We should raise our voice against issues. Only then, we will get noticed. Party should be strengthened at the booth level," Chalavadi Narayanaswamy added.
Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary speaking at the meeting said, "When party workers work hard, only then the leaders at the higher posts will have confidence in them. The meeting has been organized to create awareness among the SC community. We need to work to make sure that government schemes and programmes reach every last person in society."
"The main theme of the Constitution of India is bringing Dalits to the mainstream of society," Kota said.
"A clear goal is important for a person to achieve. Politics is not a bed of roses, we need to fight to accomplish something. The people today should follow in the direction of Dr B R Ambedkar and understand the relevance of his principles," he said.
Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat, Dinakar Babu general secretary, state BJP SC Morcha, Geetanjali Suvarna zilla panchayat member, Jagadeesha secretary, state BJP SC Morcha, Gopal Kharvi district president, SC Morcha and other dignitaries were present.
