Mangaluru, Nov 3: The students of Expert PU College, Mangaluru have secured the state first, second and third ranks in the Olympiad examinations 2019-20 conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation, New Delhi.

Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) has been conducting Olympiad tests in mathematics, science and English at national and international levels for many years.

This year the students of Expert PU College have secured a total of 16 ranks in the top 10 ranks. Aniketh Lokesh Hedge of Expert PU College has bagged the first state rank in Mathematics Olympiad test (24th rank at the international level), Samarth Yalwar has secured the state second rank in the Science Olympiad (36th rank at the international level), Dheeraj S Kori has secured the state third rank in science and the eighth rank in mathematics and Rishad Shetty secured the fifth rank in science examination.

Raj Aniketh Reddy has secured the state fourth rank in English and the seventh rank in science, Ashutosh P Kalyan Shetty secured the fourth rank in science, Shashank P fifth rank in Mathematics and sixth rank in science, Shreyas S seventh rank in science, Anush Babu Shetty seventh rank in mathematics, Megus Fernandes ninth rank in science, Shivan S ninth rank mathematics, SC Gourish tenth rank in science and Varun Gowda AB has secured the tenth rank in Mathematics examination.

Students from 56,000 colleges of 1,400 cities of 32 countries appeared for this examination this year. In a function held at Expert PU College recently the chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, Prof Narendra L Nayak gave away the gold medal, the silver medal, the bronze medal, cash prizes and certificates instituted by the Science Olympiad Foundation, New Delhi. He also congratulated and commended the students’ achievements.
