Udulpi, Nov 2: State minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar, spoke to retired teacher, Murali Kadekar over phone, for thanking him for his noble gesture of providing a nice house to student, Nayana's family. Murali Kadekar, retired as the headmaster of government aided Niittoor high school here on October 31.
Murali Kadekar, who took pity at the condition of the house in which a ninth standard student, Nayana lives, has spent his own money to provide the family with a comfortable, new house. He also has decided to extend financial assistance to Nayana to pursue higher education.

In a Facebook post, the minister hailed Murali Kadekar and said that the teacher accepted his thanks in a humble way. He said teachers like Kadekar are the real strength of the society. He has hailed the teacher for his gesture and prayed to the Lord to extend the strength to him to continue with his noble gestures like the one above.
Speaking to daijiworld, Kadekar said he was happy that his work had been recognised by the state education minister. "I feel proud and happy that the state education minister has wished me well and recognised my gesture. I had never expected such an honour from the minister. I did not even have his phone number. This morning out of the blue I received a call from the minister. He appreciated my service. I knew that Suresh Kumar is a very conscientious, sensible and kindhearted person.
"I donated a house to the poor student not for any recognition but to satisfy my yearning to do something for society. I feel proud that Suresh Kumar is the education minister when I am retiring from my service as principal of Nittur high school," he added.
